Dr. Elena M. De Costa is an Associate Professor of Spanish and Modern Languages and Literatures at Carroll College. Dr. De Costa holds a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish/Secondary Education from Boston State College, an Master of Arts in Spanish from University of Wisconsin-Madison. She also holds a PhD in Spanish/Comparative Literature from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. In addition to her role in the WHCN, her volunteer activities include membership in the Waukesha County Hispanic Community Development Advisory Council, and membership on the Board of Directors & Member of Education Committee for the Plowshare Center for Peace & Justice. Her professional associations include the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese, the Modern Language Association, and the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL).
